В статье содержится авторская гипотеза определения тенденций развития пищевой и перерабатывающей промышленности в условиях глобализации и участия в ВТО. Предпринята попытка сравнительного анализа влияния участия в ВТО на уровень развития пищевой и перерабатывающей промышленности развитых и развивающихся стран. Сделан вывод о необходимости разработки и реализации программ обеспечения инновационного развития отрасли как инструмента формирования ее конкурентоспособности в условиях глобализации и вступления в ВТО.	The paper contains an author’s hypothesis on identifying trends of the food and processing industry in the context of globalization and participation in the WTO. An attempt is made to compare the effects of participation in the WTO on the rate of development of the food and processing industry in developed and developing countries. The conclusion is made about the need to develop and implement programs for innovative development of the industry as an instrument ensuring its competitiveness in the face of globalization and WTO accession.
